The state of Qatar and Wassenaar OG announced today that they have reached an agreement on the sale of the Villa Maarheeze estate at Rijksstraatweg 675 in Wassenaar. The country house, which is part of the historic 18,300 m2 estate of Maarheeze, was built in 1914 according to a design by the Hague architect J.J. (Co) Brandes and has a gross floor area of 1,868 m2. The national monument, which had been owned by Wassenaar OG since 2014 and rented out to various organizations, will serve as Qatar’s new embassy in the Netherlands. The delivery has already taken place. The off-market sale and delivery of the Villa Maarheeze estate is the end of a careful process of consultation with the buyer and current tenants for a year and a half. The seller was advised in this transaction by Lymos Real Estate Capital Advisors, SITE Real Estate and Loyens & Loeff. The state of Qatar was legally assisted by Monte Legal.

As an investor, we always look for a good exit moment. That opportunity arose with the interest of the state of Qatar. De staat Qatar en Wassenaar OG hebben vandaag bekendgemaakt dat zij een overeenkomst hebben bereikt over de verkoop van landgoed Villa Maarheeze aan de Rijksstraatweg 675 in Wassenaar. Het landhuis, dat deel uitmaakt van het historische landgoed Maarheeze van 18.300 m², werd in 1914 gebouwd naar een ontwerp van de Haagse architect J.J. (Co) Brandes en heeft een bruto vloeroppervlak van 1.868 m². Het rijksmonument, dat sinds 2014 eigendom was van Wassenaar OG en werd verhuurd aan diverse organisaties, zal dienen als de nieuwe ambassade van Qatar in Nederland. De levering heeft inmiddels plaatsgevonden.
De off-market verkoop en levering van landgoed Villa Maarheeze markeert het einde van een zorgvuldig proces van anderhalf jaar overleg met de koper en de huidige huurders. Bij deze transactie werd de verkoper geadviseerd door Lymos Real Estate Capital Advisors, SITE Real Estate en Loyens & Loeff. De staat Qatar werd juridisch bijgestaan door Monte Legal.
